Catamaran Charters offers a variety of marine guided tours departing from the Walvis Bay Waterfront.

The company operates four modern, well-equipped and luxurious catamarans, of which three are sailing catamarans. Guides, skippers and all crew are experienced and well-qualified.

Discover the Marine Big 5 on all of the tours: Dolphins, Cape fur seals, mola mola (sunfish), leatherback turtles and whales (from July to November). A variety of seabirds, such as the Great White Pelican usually join our guests on board.

The sea breeze can make you peckish. Celebrate a morning well spent by relishing in ocean-fresh oysters paired with sparkling wine on all of the tours. A light lunch is served on board, which includes a savoury snack platter followed by coffee or tea and cake.

Vegetarians and persons with other specific dietary requirements are accommodated, as are persons with disabilities.

Children do not share the same catering as the Adults, but have their own kiddies plate with a variety of snacks.

Dolphin & Seal Cruise Duration: 09h00 – 12h30

Join this guided marine sightseeing tour every morning at 09h00 in search of the marine big 5: Whales, Dolphins, Mola, Leatherback turtle and seals. We sail past the renowned oyster farms up to Pelican Point with its landmark lighthouse and witness huge Cape fur seal colonies. Accompanying our catamarans throughout are a variety of seabirds, such as the Kelp Gull, Hartlaub’s Gull, Pelicans and Cape Cormorant. Our journey from Pelican Point takes us past some of the more interesting ships and oil rigs in the bay as we serve fresh oysters with sparkling wine, savoury snacks and desserts together with light drinks, cooldrinks and water. We return to the Waterfront at around 12h30.
Marine Desert Adventure Marine cruise: 09h00 – 12h30 / Desert tour: 12h30 – 17h00

This tour is the ultimate combination of viewing both the marine life and exploring the breathtaking desert area of Sandwich Harbour. Set sail on a luxury catamaran for an in-depth exploration of the marine life. Discover how the ocean and the desert ecosystems work together to sustain flora and fauna that are unique to this area. Upon your return to the Waterfront, your guide from Sandwich Harbour 4×4 will meet you for the afternoon excursion to this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The itinerary includes the Walvis Bay Lagoon, and further continues towards the Kuiseb River Delta via the Walvis Bay salt pans. Discover one of southern Africa’s richest and unique wetlands, one of only five RAMSAR sites in Namibia. Along the way your guide will find a spot for you to enjoy world-famous oysters, sparkling wine, and other beverages with an unforgettable view.
Pelagic Birding Excursion Duration: 08h00 – 13h00

We depart early on one of our catamarans for a journey that takes us about 20 nautical miles offshore. With a pelagic bird expert on board, you will not miss a single bird sighting in this exceptionally bird-rich area. And of course, you will also spot the marine life that abounds in the area.
